Plant Swap Recap

Yesterday I hosted my first Plant Swap and it was more than I hoped for it to be.

I attended a Plant Swap City of Cayce had and since then I have wanted to plan one.

My first steps were putting it out there to see if anyone was interested and finding a place. Both of those were taken care of pretty quickly. I got a positive response from several people and Angela of Fit Columbia was more than gracious to quickly offer up her space.

I wanted to keep the planning fairly simple and not go overboard but still make it fun for those attending. I reached out to a couple of local makers I knew and asked if they would be interested in donating an item for giveaways. I kept it simple with refreshments (soft-baked cookies and water infused with cucumbers and berries).

I asked my friend Chris, of Hippy Do Da Creation if she would donate a cuff with a plant-related sayings.

Demetria, of Things by Demetria, donated a collage.

Kayla, of Carolina Soap Works donated her Goat’s Milk Soap (I’m a fan!),

I made some fun signs for the photo backdrop.

The Potting Station was the a last minute add but was very useful. A lot of people brought their plants naked so I wanted the new plant owners to be able to pot their new babies and not have to worry about it.

Jen of Scouts Honor Stitching donated the cutest cactus embroidery (the winner was clearly happy!)

Can’t wait for the next one…October 20th!
