I have always loved the smell of coffee but I was never a fan of the taste. When I did drink it, I had to load with flavored creamers and sugar and to me that’s defeating the purpose of drinking it. Coffee is a great stimulant and a cup of it can be beneficial before a workout but I just can’t do the taste.
Fortunately, coffee does have many benefits when used externally:
- Helps tighten the skin and reduce cellulite
- Stimulates the blood and lymph flow which drains toxins and excess fluids
- Exfoliates the skin
For this scrub I also added brown sugar (for extra exfoliation) and coconut oil (for moisturizing the skin)
Coffee Brown Sugar Scrub
1/2 cup dark roasted ground coffee
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tsp sweet orange essential oil (optional, or you can use another oil)
Add the coffee, sugar, and coconut oil to a medium sized bowl. Mix all the ingredients together (I used a fork) then add an essential oil of your choice. Transfer the contents to a container and seal until ready to use.
