DIY: iPad Mini Sleeve

I just got an iPad mini for my birthday and I love love LOVE it. If anyone who’s owned an Apple product (especially an iPhone) you know you have to handle with care. After a quick search and not liking anything I see I decided to make my own sleeve. This is a very easy tutorial and would be perfect for stash busting. I already had all the materials on hand.

Materials Needed:

  • 2 pieces of exterior fabric sized 6×8.5 and 6×11 (I suggest a heavier weight fabric such as faux leather, felt, upholstery fabric, etc)
  • 2 pieces of lining fabric sized 6×8.5 and 6×11
  • 2 pieces of fusible interfacing sized 6×8.5 and 6×11
  • 5 inch strip of Velcro
  • Sewing machine
First, you are going to attach the Velcro. It will be attached to the smaller piece of the exterior and the longer piece of the lining. Use your sewing machine to attach. It will look like this.

Attach the interfacing to the lining.

Layer all the pieces together and pin them together. I used paper clips.

Starting at the bottom left corner, sew all the way around.
Clean it up by cutting off the excess but make sure not to cut any of the stitches.
All done!
