Birthday Suit / Simplicity 8124. Mccalls 5078
Last week I celebrated my birthday. Well, I really didn’t celebrate it because I didn’t tell anyone (who didn’t already know) it was my birthday. So let’s just say “Last week I had a birthday.”
Top: Simplicity 8124
Bottom: Vintage Mccalls Pattern 5078
I modify the top just a bit by shortening the bottom (to make it more cropped) and sleeves.
This pattern was probably one of the easiest (and quickest) ones I have made in quite some time. I plan to make more (in the top and dress variation).
I made these pants a few months back but made some variations. I had to shorten the length a bit (I’m only 5’2 and I’m wearing wedges in this photo). I also did an elastic waist instead of using a zipper. I did have a zipper in it but didn’t like how it looked so I took it out. I also removed the pockets.
I’ve used the Mccalls pattern to make some lounge pants with stretch knit fabric I had. I live in those pants.
The only downside to both of these patterns is they take so much fabric!
Oh, and the hair? Cersei Lannister inspired. She’s My fave.
