Plants

This plant is making me ridiculously happy

I love all of my plants, I truly do. But lately I have been playing a bit of favorite with one: Split-leaf Philodendron. It was gifted to me for my birthday and within 6 months it has been thriving! Best part: very low-maintenance. I kept it outside during the warmer months. Now it lives next to window to receive sunlight. Like most plants, I was expecting a winter dormant period but it continues to make new leaves! They do take quite some time before they completely unfurl so patience is needed (and NEVER unfurl a leaf – let them do it at their own pace!). Eventually I will have to add a climbing pole; it’s not afraid to spread out and take up space. Hmm, look at that, another plant of mine teaching me a lesson.

Living in Columbia, South Carolina and using this blog as my space to share a little insight into my life in what I'm making on the sewing machine, knitting needles, crochet hooks, in the kitchen, and elsewhere.
