I Made Hydrosol!

These are the things that get my truly excited. I bought a distiller a while ago but needed to get a pump for it (so the water would keep running through and the coil wouldn’t get too hot). I finally had some free time and decided to try it out. I used Sage leaves, lavender and lemon balm.

You want to make sure the leaves are fully covered by the water.

The sage scent is really strong. Right now I’m using it as a face mist and it feels amazing! Very lightweight and refreshing. I’m also going to try it in face masks. I’m deciding if I want to add other ingredients to it (such as glycerine forever added moisture) or just leave it completely pure.

I should also note this isn’t a quick process. It took about two hours to get this amount.

Living in Columbia, South Carolina and using this blog as my space to share a little insight into my life in what I'm making on the sewing machine, knitting needles, crochet hooks, in the kitchen, and elsewhere.
