The Hunt for Beans

For my 17th birthday I requested my favorite cookies and candies from my friends. I got Hot Tamales, Nutter Butters, Jelly Belly beans, amongst other things. 20+ years later and I’m still receiving good for my birthday. My friend got me a box from Tiny Bodega. They’ve taken the concept of the corner store (you know the ones where you can only find certain must have foods and spices) and given a bigger audience to Small BIPOC Businesses.

So far I have tried two items: Fonio Pilaf and A Dozen Cousins’ Cuban Black Beans. Both are amazing! So amazing I drove across town to find more. And yes, I could have bought them online but I’m impatient. Even my youngest who isn’t the biggest fan of beans devoured them.

Living in Columbia, South Carolina and using this blog as my space to share a little insight into my life in what I'm making on the sewing machine, knitting needles, crochet hooks, in the kitchen, and elsewhere.
