Sparkly…with Pockets

I was invited to a Holiday Event and to me it was the perfect time to stress and make a dress. In fairness, I did cut the pattern about a week ago but having to do 4 days straight of holiday markets kicked my ass.

I got this vintage McCalls pattern while thrifting several years ago. I forgot the downside to using vintage patterns is the size/measurements will not be the same as patterns today. The fabric I used (two different ones – I pieced them together) came from Joann. Instead of crossing the straps in the back I tied them at the neck making it halter style.

The dinner was beautiful. First, there was a cocktail hour and we were shown a video from Prisma Heath Midlands Foundation who’s working on expanding access to minimal invasive robotic surgery in the Midlands.

Next we went to our assigned table and seat and had the most delicious dinner. Friends, I love food. Truly. I wish I could be wordsmith and sound fancy describing the meal but I’m just going to say, it was damn good.

Living in Columbia, South Carolina and using this blog as my space to share a little insight into my life in what I'm making on the sewing machine, knitting needles, crochet hooks, in the kitchen, and elsewhere.
