Yesterday I talked about my word of the year and how I plan apply it to all aspects of my life. Getting back into my morning routine is crucial for my growth. One of the things I used to do consistently is pull a.tarot card. While some cards are favored more in the deck than others, no card is “bad.” Pulling The Devil does not mean you are going to hell; its more a warning to watch your habits: addiction, negative self-talk/harm.
We’re coming off of a season where you may feel the need to indulge: shopping, eating, drinking, binging shows, etc.
It can be hard to snap out of it but the best thing to do is to truly take it one day at a time. My new planner from Alter Planning Company has a Daily Habit Tracker where you can write down what you’re focused on for the month and mark it off each day as you complete it. I’ve decided this year I am going to try to take things in small steps. My mind can scatter quickly and if I don’t reel myself in I usually end up saying “The hell with it” and falling into bad patterns; hence, The Devil.
Ways to keep The Devil at bay – Being Mindful:
- Screen time
- Food indulgence
- Negative/Toxic people in your life
- Negative self-talk
