She received her 200hr YTT with Sakhi Yoga where her love for yoga deepened. Through this training, Shanika was awakened to the importance of practicing yoga both on and off the mat.

Feeling enlightened but still curious, Shanika enrolled with Indra Yoga Institute to further her education and receive her 300hr YTT. While studying with Indra, her view of yoga shifted. She answered the call to become more involved within her community in an effort to make yoga accessible for all bodies and has kept that goal central in her work.

She has facilitated both studio and private. Shanika received her 500hr RYT in 2021. In addition, she has received training in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), Assisted Stretching, and Reiki.

When not practicing yoga, Shanika can be found hanging with her two sons (most likely playing a board game), knitting, or watching a horror movie.

In her early 20’s, Shanika began her yoga journey and quickly became fascinated by the human body’s ability to perform the kind of intricate poses yoga encompasses.
